Taste of Lawrence a Great Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Taste of Lawrence last week. We were thrilled to see over 115,000 people come out to Scarborough's largest street festival. In the words of our founder Councillor Thompson, we saw this weekend how much "Scarborough Rocks."

At our opening ceremonies on Friday night we were graced with the presence of a number of mayoral candidates including Olivia Chow, David Soknacki, Rob Ford, Karen Stintz, and Sarah Thomson as well as John Tory on Saturday. It was great to see such support for the local community at our event.

Saturday night proved to have record-breaking attendance. It was our honour to present Rock 'n' Roll Legends, Lighthouse. The 10-piece band lit up Lawrence Avenue and attracted the single largest audience we have ever seen for any act at the Taste of Lawrence.

We still continue to receive compliments on the delicious options for food that were available at the festival. I believe we all had our fill this past weekend ;)

The addition of our Soccer Celebration area was a huge success especially during the World Cup season. For hours on end, children from all over kept active in this area brought to us by TFC and FIFA.

We were extraordinarily pleased with our new midway provider, World's Finest Shows. Their professionalism and quality is something that we look forward to for many years to come.

We would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who had a helping hand in bringing this project to life: Councillor Michael Thompson and his office, our volunteers, our sponsors, the members of the Wexford Heights BIA, the event planners at Sphere Entertainment, our suppliers, our vendors, and all the musicians and artists who brought our stages to life. Last but not least we would like to thank everyone who came out to the event to experience Lawrence Avenue. We appreciate your presence and continued support.

See you at Taste of Lawrence 2015!
